An image from my cockfighting series has been selected for an exhibition in the Vermont Photo Space. The image below was selected by award winning photographer Peter Turnley, and will go on display on Tuesday 5th April (opening reception and talk by Peter Turnley on Tuesday 12th April, 5pm). The exhibition is entitled “A True Story” and looks at the documented event, person, or place, whether political, religious, cultural or environmental.
Peter Turnley on the selected images, “I was impressed with the quality of the submissions. Almost all of the images submitted offered a sense of authentic, sincere, humanism and very many reflected an appreciation for moments of grace, elegance, and complexity in the human condition. There are a number of images chosen as well that depict many layers of interest, mystery, and complexity- often suggesting visual questions as much as offering answers”.
